Over a period of 4 weeks, Huw and an available team member would interview a combination of staff, students or parents along with top thinkers from across other industries such as Retail as well as other Educational Institutions that could offer insight into solving our design problem.
The interviews lasted for approximately 1 hour usually with Huw asking the questions while the team member would take notes either on a laptop or with pad and paper. Occasionally a recording device would be used and transcribed later.
The types of questions asked we asked were open ended and focused on issues the interviewee found frustrating with current procedures or exciting and pleasurable about their roles.
With this line of thinking we uncovered many pain points that could be worked through at a future team workshop.
